You don’t have to go far to discover how well regarded the Fraser Gallop Estate is.
5 Red Stars from James Halliday and with Jancis Robinson comparing their Parterre Chardonnay to Burgundy Grand Cru, her quote exactly - "Worth comparing to a Burgundy Grand Cru"
And with Robert Geddes MW (one of only 390 MWs worldwide) calling the Parterre Semillon Sauvignon Blanc - 5 Gold Stars, "among the great wines of the world".
It is clear Clive Otto is doing amazing work in Margaret River and his new vintage wines are of no exception. And Nigel & Dorothy Gallop’s ability to strategically create such a prodigious winery, shows they know exactly what they are doing!
While they have 3 labels, Estate, Parterre & their exclusive Palladian Range (all of which we have access to - contact here), we have specifically focused on their Parterre range, which we salivate over, every time a new vintage is released!
And as, like 2 kids in a candy shop, we excitedly wait (joyously jumping up and down) to see what Clive Otto and the Gallops are going to do next!
So, here are our favourite new vintage wines, from their Parterre range, below:
Fraser Gallop’s 2018 Parterre Chardonnay $34.95 per bottle (RRP. $43) is out! And it’s a stunner, with total drive. It is a fruit driven Chardonnay with predominantly citruson the palate with clean acid to bite and a freshly grated ginger spice note. There is a lovely understated creaminess from the lightly toasted oak and yeast lees. The wine stays around for a minute long finish. 96 Points from Halliday! - BUY HERE
Also the Fraser Gallop 2018 Parterre Semillon Sauvignon Blanc $30.95 per bottle (RRP. $35), is a show stopper. To quote, Huon Hooke, “This is a cracking wine, which will be even better in a year or so. The bouquet currently shows fresh snow-pea fruit and nutty, lightly toasty barrel-fermented nuances. It tastes youthful and tight, clean and crisp with a dry finish. Good concentration. It’s excellent now and promises more for the future." - BUY HERE
And to continue the Fraser Gallop theme (we can’t help it, it is delicious wine). Their 2016 Parterre Cabernet is an example of why 2016 is one of the BEST VINTAGES in the last DECADE. Drinking beautifully and is a wine, which should retail for $80+ BUT it is sitting here at $46.95 (RRP. $50). - BUY HERE
We of course could speak effortlessly about their entire range, but these are 3 that simply are to die for and they represent sensational quality!
And while we do have some bias towards Western Australian wines, it’s pretty clear, after James Halliday’s recent 2020 Awards night. WA seems to certainly be running an exceptionally exciting race alongside all the other wine regions of Australia in the Cabernet, Chardonnay and SSB brackets.
Well done Fraser Gallop, these wines are knockouts,
